Nigeria Investigates Genetic Links in Its Confirmed Ebola Case

On 23 October, Reuters reported that genomic analysis had found Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola case to be closely related to the virus identified in Kenya’s index case. Nigerian authorities said there was no evidence that the Kenyan index patient had travelled to Nigeria or had a direct connection with the Nigerian patient. The report did not disclose a cost for the response.
